2018 has only just begun and here at IMS Evolve we’re excited to embark upon this new year and build upon
the successes and landmarks of 2017.
IMS Evolve deployed fully operational IoT solutions to a number of retailers, across a total of 5,795 sites in the UK and North America in the last 12 months. We opened our very first US office and were delighted to welcome new members to the team, taking on roles including business analysts, embedded support and office management.
To ensure we continue to build on this exciting growth trajectory, we are pleased to have welcomed Arne Weber to our expanding team as Chief Financial Officer. Arne joined us from German energy company E.ON, where he was responsible for M&A, integration, project finance and business development. His advanced skills and knowledge will help spearhead IMS Evolve’s future and global expansion as our development accelerates, supporting the business on its continued path as a leader in proven, business-centric IoT products.
Alongside our international growth, we’ve continued to build upon the valued partnerships we have with Dell and Intel. In September, we were delighted to attend the Dell EMC IoT Labs Event in Limerick, as part of an insightful roster of speakers on the latest IoT technology. As a Dell IoT Solutions Partner, it allowed CCO, Jason Kay, the opportunity to present to press attendees and analysts, discussing the IMS Evolve solution and how it can be utilised within the cold chain to tackle problems and improve efficiencies. We were thrilled to receive feedback from Dermot O’Connell, Vice President, OEM and IoT, Dell EMC EMEA, who said: “The story from IMS Evolve is even more impactful because it goes beyond answering customer needs to have a real effect on sustaining the world we live in.”
Towards the end of the year, we were invited to New York to attend the Dell IQT Day for the unveiling of Dell’s newest IoT vision and strategy, where Michael Dell himself revealed an investment of $1billion over the next three years into new IoT products, solutions and labs, as well as into the Dell IoT Solutions Partner Program. This was followed by the Dell EMC Forum event, a technology networking experience involving representatives and stands from a good many different sectors. Here, our CCO led a presentation to industry analysts, discussing the IMS Evolve solution further, and detailing the core business benefits; it was great to see so much interest in the solution as a result.
IMS Evolve also had the pleasure of becoming a founding member of the 2017 Linux Foundation project, creating a common framework for IoT edge computing that will drive interoperability between applications and connectivity standards. In October, the Made Smarter Review, otherwise known as the Industrial Digitalisation Strategy, undertaken on behalf of the UK government, was also released. This collaborative review and associated report, of which IMS Evolve played a part, provided key insights for the industry and is looked to as a guide for the fourth industrial revolution, which you can read here.
Topped off by a win at the coveted Computing Big Data & IoT Excellence Awards for IoT Product of the Year, we’re saying goodbye to a very eventful and exciting 2017, but can’t wait for what 2018 has to offer! You can keep up-to-date with all our activities and progress via our Twitter and LinkedIn.
