2018 was a substantial year for digital transformation and with forecasts predicting further increase in IoT adoption, IMS looks towards the future and reflects on a monumental year for company growth.
Providing powerful IoT implementations to customers across the world, last year saw IMS Evolve further secure its position on the expanding Global IoT Market, achieving additional growth in North America and Europe, alongside new prospects in Canada and South America.
A dedicated focus on developing the valued partnerships we have around the world has accelerated this growth. Establishing multiple new partners and progressing current strategic alliances with the likes of GE Current, has delivered significant pilot opportunities and new contract wins.
Furthermore, exciting announcements with longstanding industry partners, Dell and Intel, came in quick succession.
IMS Evolve was announced at VMWorld as a Dell Technologies IoT Solution Partner. The award-winning program enables industry wide collaboration to ensure proven, scalable and value-driven IoT implementations are more accessible to customers and vendors, and IMS remain extremely proud to form part of the Dell Bundles portfolio.
We were also thrilled to announce that Intel named IMS Evolve as a Market Ready Solution, recognising the tangible value and ROI our solution delivers for some of the world’s largest retailers. Successfully meeting Intel’s strict approval criteria was no mean feat and being benchmarked as a leading and trusted Cold Chain IoT provider was a notable achievement.
2018 kicked off with an invite to NRF New York alongside partner, GE Current. The sizable show had an apt technology-focus and a plethora of digital solutions. With improving the customer experience a dominant theme, the event provided the ideal platform to present how our solution drives and delivers customer-centric value release.
Further, in April we attended Dell EMC World for the third consecutive year. As a trusted Dell IoT Partner and active member of their IoT Partner Ecosystem, we were asked to participate in their Internet of Things & OEM showcase. The event enabled us to present our solution at the Dell IoT Theatre sessions and engage visitors on the tradeshow floor. The three days were topped off with Chris Wolff, Head of Global OEM and IoT Partnerships at Dell, identifying IMS as a ‘future-maker’ during the Key note speech about digital transformation and the power of proven IoT Solutions.
A further achievement in 2018 was the successful completion of a two-year Government Funded IMS Evolve Energy project, alongside a consortium consisting of Tesco, Lincoln University, FRPERC and Government Agency - Innovate UK. The project developed a Food Retail solution to stabilise the National Grid through balancing energy supply and demand, whilst mitigating risk to food safety and quality. On completion, Innovate UK commented the project was one of their most successful investments in recent years, and IMS are proud to have been part of developing a unique, market-leading solution.
November bought about a true highlight, when IMS took home the trophy at the UK IT Industry awards for Best IoT Project of the Year. The judging panel stated that the submitted energy project was ‘an exceptional example of leveraging IoT based innovations to provide significant customer value, delivering exemplary return on customer investment’; an accolade to be proud of.
To support rapid business growth, 2018 was an appropriate time to re-enforce our company core values through an official launch. Intrinsic to our company strap line, ‘Better Choices Made Possible,’ the values do not seek to provide a new working ethos, but instead aim to refine and reinforce the current one. The core values underpin the development of IMS, both internally and for our customers, as instilling an internal innovative and creative environment, with respect and integrity, provides a solid framework for progression.
A true example of living the values came with the launch of the innovative Graduate Scheme; which was identified, created and successfully implemented by our Systems Architect DevOps Manager, with one recruit employed under the scheme and plans to apply this further across the business.
The milestones achieved within the last 12 months established 2018 as a truly colossal year for IMS Evolve. However, with expansion into new verticals, such as Petrol Filling Stations and Pharmaceuticals, alongside continued focus on advancing our position within the Global IoT market, 2019 is inevitably set to be a fast-paced and ground-breaking year.
