Our IMS visionaries and established industry leaders Frank Jones, CEO, and Jason Kay, Chief Commercial Officer, provide their expert insights on how organisations can grow and thrive in the coming months.

The past year has been a whirlwind of technological and business advancements and 2025 promises to be another year in which the pace of innovation continues to accelerate. As businesses prepare for the next twelve months, staying ahead of evolving developments and priorities will be a necessity for sustainable and elevated growth. From harnessing the power of AI to shifting to energy market demands, in 2025 organisations must keep pace with a constantly evolving business and technology landscape.

Frank Jones, Chief Executive Officer:
AI’s inflection point
2024 was an inflection point for AI, as the technology transitioned from being seen as a buzzword to becoming a viable, affordable, stable business solution and worthwhile investment. In the next twelve months, AI deployment will progress from surface level applications, such as dictating meeting notes, to more strategic use cases, such as leveraging the billions of data points generated in critical environments to create new value propositions.

Embracing technology to achieve business goal                                                                                                                                                                          Technology is undeniably the future, and it should be invested in and considered across all business strategies. However, it can only deliver true value when deployed effectively and securely. By 2025, emerging AI models will play a critical role in business operations – but only if they are built, trained, and managed effectively by providers. Likewise, many organisations will have begun adopting AI models and will already start to see the value they provide. However, to fully realise the benefits of AI at scale, businesses must embrace the changes required. While much of the current conversation focuses on large-scale applications, AI will increasingly be applied to smaller, specific business challenges, reshaping embedded processes and legacy systems. Managing this transformation internally will be essential for successful adoption and long-term impact.

Connected ecosystems are key
The key to accelerated success for businesses in 2025 will be driving the interconnectivity of systems and supply chains, enabling both existing and new to communicate and work together seamlessly. Traditional silos limit connectivity and hinder progress – a challenge that will only intensify as innovations like AI are adopted. Organisations must embrace solutions that enable real-time integration of data and workflows – breaking down barriers and fostering adaptable, seamless operations. It will be essential to have inter-connecting ecosystems as this will aid the full potential of transformative technologies, such as AI.

Jason Kay, Chief Commercial Officer:
Focus on core business functions
Coming into 2025, there are strong indicators of high cost of capital, skillset constraints, and price volatility in energy and core component materials. Businesses that focus on efficiency and waste reduction in context of their business models have a huge opportunity for competitive advantage. A disciplined focus on the mitigation of risk and waste at speed and at scale will reap the greatest benefits from these advantages. Unfocused programmes without a clear line of sight on outcomes contain the greatest risk. There are huge technological opportunities available to us in 2025, but an unstructured approach to leveraging those tools risks falling behind the competition.

AI will act as a catalyst for business transformation
AI will play a crucial role this year, enabling businesses to consume huge volumes of data and develop predictive models at lightning-fast speeds. Through its application, adopting organisations will be able to access tangible and actionable insights faster and more effectively. By focusing on repeatable successes and scalable wins, AI is set to drive analytical breakthroughs, and enable organisations prioritise impactful outcomes and make time for priority tasks. As is the case with any technology, businesses must be mindful of applying the right technology correctly. If done so, it will yield quantifiable business success.

Navigating macro energy trends
A global shift in energy policy would significantly impact supply chains and business costs in 2025. Organisations must be prepared to adapt to changing energy landscapes, leverage adoptable new technologies, and be dynamic in the face of challenges. This will unlock new and unprecedented opportunities even within the challenging landscape which they are faced with.
